Advanced Search to find award winning producers close to their home. Getting visibility for your business in a crowded market is key - Local Food Advisor could be a great new way to capture a bigger share of the many customers who are now seeking top quality local produce.
Listings are free for businesses who have one of the awards listed here ,
or are a producer of rare breed meat from the RBST's rare breed list
or succesfully meet the requirements of our questionnaire - see below. We will create an online listing for your business complete with space for photos and videos. Your business will be categorised by geography, type of produce, awards, breeds, etc, making it very easy for consumers to find your listing. This also means that people coming to your listing will be targeted and therefore far more likely to be interested in your business. Please email
info@localfoodadvisor.com to find out more about getting a listing.
If you dont have an award and you are not a rare breed producer, dont worry -you can still get a free listing (see below)
I don't have any awards and I am not a rare breed producer, how do I apply for a listing?
To ensure each producer meets our high standards for local food, we ask that each
business wishing to be listed completes a questionnaire so we can find out a about your sourcing and quality policies. If accepted you will receive our 'Certified Local Quality Food Award'. We will then put up a completely free, permanent listing for you with up to two photographs and a video. We do not charge for this service however we do ask in return that you include one of our 'Recommended by Local Food Advisor' badges on your website (
Recommended Badge) For a small charge we can also send you a framed certificate which demonstrates your approved local sourcing and quality status.
If you would like a listing,
email
info@localfoodadvisor.com and we will respond with a questionnaire to fill out, along with all the other details you need.
Frequently Asked Questions
How will people search for my business?
Around 100,000 visitors use our search facility each month to look for quality local food. The most popular way users search for producers is by postcode distance and food category. People performing a search will be presented with a list of search results relevant to their query - producers are listed in order of distance from the consumer (closest first) or number of of awards if no postcode is entered. The exception to this is for
Featured Producer listings, whose position in relevant search results is always ahead of non featured producers irrespective of distance or number of awards.
I am already listed but I would like to apply for
the Local Food Advisor 'Certified Local Quality Food Award' to demonstrate to
my customers that my produce meets the strict LFA requirements for
local sourcing and quality.
Please email us at
info@localfoodadvisor.com
to receive a copy of our questionnaire. If successful this award will
be added to your website listing on our site at no charge. A framed
certificate is also available for a small charge.
What if I want to change information such as changing telephone numbers or opening another branch?
When you receive a listing you will also recieve a username and password so you can log into your account and change your address, contact numbers and many other details. For security, changes won't be instantly updated on your listing until somebody in our offices approves the changes.
You have almost 4000 producers listed on Local Food Advisor! Is there a way to stand out from the crowd?
We highly recommend sending us, or uploading your own pictures rather than using our stock images as this personalises your listing in search results, and makes a big difference in the number of people who will click on your listing. You can also get, on average, 4x the amount of consumers visiting your listing by upgrading to a
featured producer
